Toronto ON — Putting all the cigarettes into the fucking bag, store clerk Jeanette Davis of Davis Confectionary warned the troubled young man robbing her that he better come up with a new weapon of choice because she will be voting for a handgun ban in Ontario’s June election.
“I’ll tell you one thing, next time you walk in here and ask for all my merchandise, you will be holding a baseball bat,” she told him while he stood there waiting for his smokes. “I’m voting for Steven Del Duca and he is coming for that gun!”
This seemed to put some fear in the delinquent because he started telling her to hurry up and seemed a bit panicky as he asked her to put all the money in the bag.
“It might have been the sirens, but I’m almost positive that it was the realization that robberies will be a little more difficult with a less deadly weapon,” Davis told us over the phone. “He didn’t really get antsy until I told him that I was voting Liberal.”
With a handgun ban, criminals will be reduced to only being able to slip a note to a clerk threatening that they have a gun while poking their finger out of their pocket. The ban can’t come soon enough for Jeanette who has been robbed three times over the years. Luckily for her, she won’t have to worry about this robber coming back for a couple of hours while his promise to appear paperwork gets written up.
