In an unprecedented stroke of luck, a lifelong Oakland Athletics fan, Aaron Williams somehow managed to acquire every single ball that was hit out of play during their game last night at Oakland Coliseum. Most baseball fans are lucky if they can catch one foul ball or home run in their lifetime but to catch all of them in one game is unheard of.
The most amazing part of the feat was that Aaron, who was sitting on the third-base line was getting all the balls fouled off in right field as well.
“They just seemed to be hitting the ball right near me, or to the opposite field where nobody was sitting, and it came down to a foot chase with the popcorn vendors,” he told us outside the stadium since we didn’t feel like watching the game.
When asked if felt a bit greedy to take all the balls instead of sharing, he informed us that he searched far and wide for any child to give a ball to and he couldn’t find one. He offered a ball to a security guard who may know a child who wanted one but he said he couldn’t think of a single person.
Williams said he would just use the balls as dog toys if he couldn’t find anyone to take them, which could be made even more difficult as he plans on going to tonight’s game as well.
“I’m bringing a bin tonight just in case I get lucky again. Go A’s Go!”
